 "Working with Amy and Residential Remedies has been a life saver to us.  We decided last fall to undergo a huge renovation on our home in Canton.  We have never done anything like this before.  The extent of our experience is painting a room and hanging some pictures. The scope of our project included finishing our basement which had never been touched as well as completely remodeling the main floor of our colonial.  The main floor was not just a cosmetic update, we were taking down walls, extending walls, opening up a staircase, reconfiguring our laundry room, etc.  Needless to say, we bit off more than we could chew and very quickly got overwhelmed by the enormity of the project and the decisions we were faced with.  There is no way we could have done this project alone from a design standpoint and in talking to several local designers, we immediately knew, upon meeting Amy, she was the perfect fit for us!  So, we hired Residential Remedies! I cannot say enough about the knowledge Amy brings to our project in every single aspect.  She has helped us with everything from design plans, lighting plans, lighting/fixture selection, paint, fabric, furniture, mediator between us and our contractor, sounding board when we have an issue, etc. She has been wonderful at taking all of our ideas, inspirations, and likes and turning them into a concept that makes it possible for us to envision and feel confident in making selections whereas, we would be thinking and changing our minds a million times over without her guidance. So far, she has helped us save money on furniture and lighting as well as giving us suggestions on small changes design wise which has results in saving money on materials/labor with our initial design concept.  I depend on Amy tremendously to help reign in my ideas and looks to become succinct concepts. Residential Remedies makes our process easier in so many ways.  She helps prioritize "to do" lists and when and how to get things done ahead of time so any lag time in the project is not because we have not done "our jobs".  She helps keep us motivated when we are overwhelmed or frustrated.  "During my initial visit with Amy, she provided recommendations on paint colors for our foyer and front door. We were so satisfied with her choices (the front door color is gorgeous!) that we hired her design services for our entire home. Amy has that unique ability to see nuances in colors--a skill I lack-- and hiring her took the frustration out of choosing paint colors and design in general. She provided us with detailed floor plans for many rooms in our home, including our master bedroom, living/dining room, and family room, as well as our outdoor spaces. All of this saved us time and money! She is particularly skilled at getting the most out of spaces by providing tips on organization and de-cluttering of rooms, rearranging furniture to suit our family's needs, using existing pieces of furniture and artwork to save money, and helping with shopping needs for new pieces that fit our budget. She guided me toward some upholstery fabric that was on sale to recover our dining room chairs, and I bought it that very day! What I enjoyed most about this whole experience is Amy's warm, friendly personality. She is so easy to work with, listening, and writing notes about everything I was telling her. She is enthusiastic and eager to help (and patient)! She even gave me design tips for making improvements on my own. We were able to work easily from her plans, which simplified the entire process, and we made some beautiful enhancements on a tight budget, which wasn't something, frankly, I expected from a designer. We are so grateful for this experience and wouldn't design a space without her!"
